On 7th April, Top 100 popular museums list for the first quarter of 2024 was released. Nantong Museum is on the list, ranking the 57th. It is ranked the 8th among Top 100 popular museums of prefecture-level cities.
Nantong Museum was founded by Zhang Jian, a famous industrialist, educator, and social activist in modern times, in 1905. It is the first public museum founded by Chinese people.
Apart from that, among the top 30 county museums in top 100 popular museums, Hai’an Museum ranks the 18th; among the top 30 theme museums in top 100 popular museums, Jiangsu Jianghai Museum and Henry C.Lee Museum of Forensic Sciences rank the 27th and 28th respectively.
